Stefanie Coppes, Ph.D. - Clearwater and Sarasota offices

Dr. Stefanie Coppes is the founder and president of Coastal Neuropsychology. She is a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist who has practiced in the Tampa Bay area for over 10 years. Dr. Coppes was awarded her Doctorate degree in the Combined Counseling Psychology and School Psychology program at Florida State University. She was also awarded a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from Florida State University. She specializes in the evaluation and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, Autism, Learning Disorder) and psychological and behavioral disorders (anxiety, depression, ODD).

Dr. Coppes completed her pre-doctoral residency at Georgia Southern University where she provided counseling, assessment, crisis, instructional, and mentoring services. During her residency, she was awarded the prestigious President’s Grant as recognition for scholastic accomplishment and leadership.  Dr. Coppes then completed her post-doctoral fellowship in private practice where she provided both psychological and neuropsychological assessment services.

Dr. Coppes has presented at several national, state, and local conferences in the areas of neurodevelopmental disorders and evaluation, sport psychology, and career development. In addition, she has served as an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida and the Florida School of Professional Psychology. She serves as a clinical supervisor for the post-doctoral program at Coastal Neuropsychology.

Dr. Coppes is currently President of the Pinellas Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association. She is Past President of the Lower West Coast Chapter (Sarasota-Bradenton area) of the same organization. She is also a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, National Association for School Psychology, American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology, Florida Association of School Psychology, and American Psychological Association. She is on the board for the Florida School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Coppes has received an award for Outstanding Early Career Contributions to Psychology by the Florida Psychological Association.

Jennifer Thibodeaux, Ph.D. - Clearwater office and Telehealth

Dr. Jennifer Thibodeaux is a licensed psychologist and contracts with Coastal Neuropsychology. She is also contracted with Largo Medical Center. She is originally from the heart of Cajun country in south Louisiana and recently made Tampa Bay her home. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Louisiana State University and was awarded her master’s degree in Psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University. She continued her graduate training at Louisiana Tech University where she earned her second master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance as well as her doctorate in Counseling Psychology.

Dr. Thibodeaux completed her pre-doctoral residency at VA Pacific Islands Healthcare in Honolulu, HI. During her residency, she received training in helping individuals manage symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and acquired certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy. Dr. Thibodeaux then completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the James A. Haley VA in Tampa, FL where she specialized in providing psychological services to Veterans managing chronic health conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular problems, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, substance use, and cancer. By using a collaborative, cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy, Dr. Thibodeaux focuses on helping adult clients identify barriers to change and empowering them with behavioral skills and self-reflection to meet personal goals.

Christina Brown, Psy.D. - Clearwater office and Telehealth

Dr. Christina Brown is a licensed psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology specializing in women’s issues, mental illness, and interpersonal trauma. She obtained M.S. and Psy.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and completed both her pre-doctoral residency and post-doctoral fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from New College of Florida.  

Dr. Brown is presently on faculty at the Florida School of Professional Psychology.  She has worked extensively in community mental health administration and practice with over 10 years of experience.  She is involved in leadership for the Pinellas Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association, for which she was awarded for Outstanding Early Career Contributions to Psychology. She serves as a clinical supervisor for the post-doctoral program at Coastal Neuropsychology.

 Dr. Brown is passionate about working with women, ranging from adolescence to older adulthood. She is a member of the Association for Women in Psychology, chair of the Women’s Division for Florida Psychological Association, and teaches graduate courses in Psychology of Women and Women’s Mental Illness (among other courses). Her approach to treatment is integrative, merging an interpersonal and feminist model tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

Laura Lajos, Ph.D. - Sarasota office and Telehealth

Dr. Laura Lajos is a licensed psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology who was born and raised in Buffalo, NY and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rochester in Psychology in 1993. She then completed a Master’s degree in Psychology at Boston University.

Subsequently, Dr. Lajos obtained her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in 2002 in Clinical Psychology at Louisiana State University. She then completed her pre-doctoral residency and post-doctoral fellowship at the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System Audie L. Murphy Veterans Affairs Hospital. Her concentration was in the areas of health psychology and sleep medicine. At the Veterans Affairs facility, she managed patients on an inpatient psychiatric unit and in the posttraumatic stress disorder, pain management and primary care clinics. She obtained her status as a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine in 2005. Dr. Lajos has been licensed as a clinical psychologist in the states of Louisiana and Florida.

Dr. Lajos has had extensive experience in assessment. She has provided assessment and psychological testing that can foster a better approach to treatment goals for clients. She has worked closely with Vocational Rehabilitation services in both Louisiana and Florida. She has also worked extensively with geriatric patients in assisted-living and nursing home facilities.

Dr. Lajos provides therapy to adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. She addresses a variety of psychological issues including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, health psychology and management of sleep disorders. Her primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as supportive counseling and crisis management.

Jane Adams, Psy.D. - Clearwater office and Telehealth

Dr. Jane Adams is a licensed psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology specializing in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of neurodevelopmental and psychological disorders in children, adolescents, and young adults.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Psychology from SUNY Buffalo, Masters of Science (M.S) in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) in School Psychology from Nova Southeastern University.  She completed her pre-doctoral residency in Hillsborough County Public Schools, and her post-doctoral fellowship in private practice.

Prior to working with Coastal Neuropsychology, Dr. Adams was employed by the Hillsborough County Public School (HCPS) system as a school psychologist for 7 years. She is certified by the Florida Department of Education as a school psychologist and has extensive experience working within public and private school settings at both primary and secondary levels where she has served as a member of multidisciplinary school-based teams and has provided evaluation, counseling, crisis intervention, and academic and behavioral intervention consultation services. 

Dr. Adams is passionate about working with individuals ranging from early childhood to early adulthood.  She provides comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations to diagnose and rule out Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety disorders, behavioral disorders, giftedness, intellectual disabilities, mood disorders, and specific learning disabilities.  She also provides therapeutic services to address concerns related to anxiety, depression, grief, stress management, and interpersonal functioning (i.e. social skills, conflict resolution).  Her treatment philosophy is rooted in a client-centered approach and includes evidence-based interventions and techniques derived from various treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).

Vanessa DeMocko, Psy.D. - Sarasota office

Dr. Vanessa DeMocko is a licensed psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychologist and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Learning Disabilities) and psychological disorders (Anxiety, Depression, and Behavior) in children and adolescents. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and Interpersonal Communications from Florida State University and completed her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego. She has pre-doctoral experience in school settings and completed her post-doctoral fellowship in a child and adolescent residential treatment center in San Diego.

Dr. DeMocko was employed through the Manatee County School District as a psychologist from 2006-2014, where she provided learning disability evaluations, counseling, and academic/behavioral consultation to teachers and parents in both the primary and secondary setting. She is well-versed in the requirements for educational intervention and planning. She is also currently employed at William Monroe Rowlett Academy and has worked with students with a range of needs including anxiety, emotional and behavioral dysregulation, social skills, executive function, and crisis intervention.

Dr. DeMocko is passionate about providing education to families about their child’s cognitive or behavioral strengths and weaknesses via psychological assessment. She enjoys establishing a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a primary therapeutic approach.

Monique Cohn, Ph.D. - Clearwater office and Telehealth

Dr. Monique Cohn (she/her) is a licensed psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development and Education from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Education degree in School Psychology from the University of Florida. Dr. Cohn was awarded her Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology from the University of Florida. She completed a pre-doctoral APA-accredited internship where she specialized in psychological assessment. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine where she received specialized training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy with Exposure Response Prevention (CBT-ER/P), and assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders. 

Dr. Cohn is a proud member of the American Psychological Association (APA), National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), Florida Association of School Psychologists (FASP), International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), and PCIT International. Dr. Cohn is presently an adjunct lecturer at the University of Florida where she teaches for a psychology graduate level program.

Dr. Cohn is uniquely trained in school psychology, in addition to being a licensed psychologist, and a certified therapist in PCIT. Dr. Cohn has experience working in school settings, early childhood settings, private practice, an academic medical clinic, and a community mental health clinic. She has extensive training and interest in psychological assessment, school consultation, and evidence-based intervention. Dr. Cohn is very passionate about early diagnostic and intervention services. She specializes in providing comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations to evaluate for neurodevelopmental disorders (i.e., such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, learning disorders, global developmental delays, intellectual developmental disorder), behavioral and mood disorders, giftedness, amongst other psychological concerns. 

Dr. Cohn has interest and training in treating anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), behavioral disorders through parent management techniques (i.e., attention concerns, defiance, noncompliance), and interpersonal functioning (i.e., social skills, improved self-esteem). Dr. Cohn provides an individualized and collaborative approach to treatment and is passionate about providing high quality services that are tailored to each individual’s needs. 

More information about some of the evidence-based interventions that Dr. Cohn utilizes:

  • Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a treatment for young children with behavioral problems. This treatment is targeted for children aged 2 to 7 years old, however, adaptations can be made for older children. PCIT is used with children who have attention concerns or disruptive behavioral concerns. PCIT aids in strengthening the parent-child relationship while setting healthy boundaries.   • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is proven to be effective in treating a range of anxiety and depressive disorders. CBT involves efforts to change thinking and behavioral patterns that are impacting current functioning. Cognitive Behavior Therapy with Exposure Response Prevention (CBT-ER/P) expands on CBT and includes two main components, exposure and response prevention. CBT-ER/P is proven to be highly effective in treatment of OCD and related disorders. Dr. Cohn works with patients to help them respond to anxious thoughts in an adaptive, healthy, and realistic manner.

Kalynn Gruenfelder, Psy.D. - Clearwater office and Telehealth

Dr. Kalynn Gruenfelder is a licensed psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology. She received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in 2021 from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2013 from Boston University and her Master of Science degree from Georgia Southern University in 2019. Dr. Gruenfelder completed her pre-doctoral residency at a community mental health center in Boca Raton, Florida, where she provided psychological evaluation and individual, couples, and group therapy to people across the lifespan. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship with Coastal Neuropsychology under the supervision of Dr. Stefanie Coppes. In addition to this training experience, she has experience conducting neurodevelopmental and psychological assessments at a private practice, as well as performing individual and group therapy services at both counseling centers and community mental health settings.

Dr. Gruenfelder is passionate about neuropsychological and psychological assessment and providing therapy with the aim of helping clients gain insight and understanding of themselves to aid in treatment planning and meaningful life decisions. She approaches therapy through a person-centered lens while engaging a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Lastly, Dr. Gruenfelder is a member of the Florida Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.

Janet Bertoldi, Ph.D. - Sarasota office and Telehealth

 Dr. Janet Bertoldi is a licensed clinical psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology. She is originally from the Northeast and has called Sarasota home since 2019. She was awarded her master’s degree and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the New School for Social Research in New York, NY. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Manhattan VA Medical Center and post-doctoral fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine.

 Dr. Bertoldi has over 20 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in both outpatient and inpatient community mental health, as well as in private practice and academic settings. Most recently, she was Chief of Behavioral Health at MCR Health, Inc.

 Dr. Bertoldi’s therapeutic approach is collaborative and integrative. She is passionate about helping clients to increase self-understanding and­­­ achieve the personal growth that allows them to achieve their goals and live their best life. Specific specialty areas include anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues. She is trained in a range of treatment modalities including psychodynamic interventions that address underlying conflicts, cognitive behavioral approaches, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness, and coaching individuals diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Michelle Morrell, Psy.D. - Sarasota office and Telehealth

Dr. Michelle Morrell is a licensed psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological, psychological, and autism evaluations and in individual therapy with children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Morrell earned her Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology from Adler University, an APA-accredited university in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Morrell completed her pre-doctoral residency at the Hawai’i Psychological Internship Consortium, where she provided psychological evaluations and evidence-based interventions to students in multiple underserved schools throughout the Big Island of Hawai’i. Dr. Morrell completed her post-doctoral fellowship at The Department of Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Dr. Morrell also received training at Northwestern University’s Family Institute and at Rush NeuroBehavioral Center at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, where she provided comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Morrell worked in private practice at The Center for NeuroCare before joining the team at Coastal Neuropsychology. 

Dr. Morrell is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological evaluations to diagnose and rule out neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual developmental disorder, and language disorders), anxiety and depressive disorders, conduct and oppositional disorders, trauma disorders, giftedness, as well as other psychological concerns. Dr. Morrell also provides therapeutic services to address anxiety, depression, self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, self-injury, trauma, grief, stress, and difficulties related to life transitions, interpersonal relationships, and LGBTQIA+. Dr. Morrell approaches therapy through a client-centered lens while utilizing a variety of evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Heer Panchal, Psy.D. - Clearwater office

Dr. Heer Panchal is a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology. She is a graduate of the Florida School of Professional Psychology (FSPP) in Tampa, Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of South Florida in 2015, a master's degree in psychology from Nova Southeastern University (M.S.) in 2016, and a master's degree (M.A) in clinical psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology in 2018. She completed her pre-doctoral residency in clinical psychology at an integrated primary clinic located in Bradenton, FL with a focus in medical psychology and neuropsychology. She also has completed doctoral training at neuropsychological outpatient clinics, inpatient residential hospitals, and VA neuropsychology consultative services which provided opportunities to work through a lifespan approach and provide clinical services to patients with an array of medical, neurological, and psychological diagnoses. She completed a 2-year post-doctoral neuropsychology fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Stefanie Coppes at Coastal Neuropsychology while attending weekly seminars at Johns Hopkins All-Children’s Hospital. These clinical experiences included extensive training in the assessment and diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases, spinal cord injuries and acquired and traumatic brain injuries. Her professional interests include assessing for neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders, health psychology, and integrated care. She served as the co-chair for the Neuropsychology & Research group at the Florida School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Panchal is also a member of the Division of South Asian Americans within AAPA and APA, the Florida Psychological Association, the FSPP Student Psychological Association, and is a mentee in a mentor match program within the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychologists.

Samantha Omelian, Ph.D. - Clearwater office and Telehealth

Dr. Sam Omelian is a licensed psychologist contracting with Coastal Neuropsychology. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2014 and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Augusta University in 2015. She was awarded her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi in 2022. She completed her pre-doctoral residency at Northeast Florida State Hospital in Macclenny, Florida, where she specialized in the treatment of adults with serious mental illness and forensic treatment and evaluations. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship with Coastal Neuropsychology under the supervision of Dr. Stefanie Coppes and Dr. Christina Brown where she completed both neuropsychological evaluations and therapy with adults. She also completed training providing psychological evaluation and individual and group therapy with adults in settings such as a college psychological center, an outpatient clinic, a state inpatient facility, and a trauma recovery clinic at a VA Medical Center.

 Ms. Omelian is passionate about providing therapy to individuals who may be experiencing posttraumatic stress, depression and mood disorders, and anxiety, in addition to other psychological issues. She provides a safe space and aids clients in gaining a greater understanding of themselves and the experiences they have gone through. She practices from a client-centered lens as well as a psychodynamic approach, which helps individuals explore how early experiences may influence them today. She is trained in a variety of techniques such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and trauma specific treatment approaches. She is also passionate about neuropsychological and psychological assessments with the aim of helping patients gain a greater understanding of themselves and to inform their next steps of treatment. She provides evaluations for various mental health disorders, ADHD, and autism.

Yuliya Mykytyn, Psy.D. - Sarasota office and Telehealth

Dr. Yuliya Mykytyn is a post-doctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. Stefanie Coppes and Dr. Christina Brown. She received her Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) in 2022 from Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Queens College in 2014, a master’s degree (M.A) in Psychology from Long Island University in 2016, and a master’s degree (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology in 2019. She completed her pre-doctoral residency in Clinical Psychology at an Appalachian State University counseling center located in Boone, NC, where she provided individual therapy and group therapy for the young adult population. Her areas of focus included identity development, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and stress management. In addition to this training experience, she has experience conducting psychological assessments at a private practice as well as providing individual and group therapy services at counseling centers. Dr. Mykytyn is a member of Division 35 Society for Psychology of Women within an APA, Division 56 Trauma Psychology within an APA, and APA.

Dr. Mykytyn’s professional interests include working with survivors of trauma, including utilizing self-care, and mindfulness in her work. Her therapeutic approach is integrative in nature with main focus on her patient's needs and goals. She integrates evidence-based approaches, such as Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as client-centered, trauma-informed, and interpersonal processing models. Dr. Mykytyn honors her patients' unique identities and experiences by providing an authentic and supportive environment in session.

Madison Boblett-Hunt, Psy.D. – Sarasota office and Telehealth

Dr. Madison Boblett-Hunt is a post-doctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. Stefanie Coppes and Dr. Christina Brown. She received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology in 2023 from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois. She was awarded her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in 2020. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Political Science from Ohio University in 2018.

Dr. Boblett-Hunt completed her pre-doctoral residency at Centerstone Consortium in Adult Outpatient services located in Bradenton, Florida where she trained as a generalist clinician working with a wide-range of mental health concerns. She also has clinical experience working in inpatient psychiatric hospital, school, and private practice settings. She is passionate about treating older adolescent and adult populations experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, interpersonal issues, and life transitions.

Dr. Boblett-Hunt practices with a holistic and integrative therapeutic style, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and relational, client-centered, and trauma-informed techniques. She is also trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other related disorders. She is dedicated to individualizing her treatment approaches to conduct culturally appropriate services to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Boblett-Hunt is committed to fighting the stigmatization that accompanies mental health issues. She understands there are certain stressors and difficulties that life can bring, and she believes that no one should have to navigate these alone. She strives to provide a safe, empathetic, and accepting environment where the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of change. As a therapist, she is focused on empowering clients to grow into stronger and more confident individuals who can live a life full of meaning and purpose. Megan Millikan-Pethtel, Psy.D. – Sarasota office

Dr. Megan Millikan-Pethtel is a neuropsychology post-doctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. Stefanie Coppes. She received her Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) in 2023 from the University of Indianapolis. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Ball State University in 2018 and a Master’s degree (M.A.) in clinical psychology from the University of Indianapolis in 2020. She completed her pre-doctoral residency in clinical psychology at a community mental health center in Bradenton, FL with a focus on children, adolescents, and families. She also has completed doctoral training providing psychological evaluations and individual, group, and family therapy with children, adolescents, families, young adults, and adults in settings such as a college counseling center and an outpatient clinic.

Dr. Millikan-Pethtel has experience working with clients across the lifespan with an array of neurological and psychological diagnoses. Her professional interests include assessing for neurodevelopmental and psychological disorders in children and adolescents. She is passionate about psychological assessment with the goal of helping clients build a better understanding of themselves and to inform their next steps of treatment. She will be providing neuropsychological assessment services with Coastal Neuropsychology.
